Coast couple wins $1 million in Gold Lotto

COMMITMENT has proven key in winning lotto for one Gold Coast couple who took home a division one prize of more than $1 million on Saturday.

Having played the same numbers every week since Gold Lotto was first introduced, the retired Broadbeach Waters pair could barely believe their eyes when they realised they had the winning ticket.
The couple discovered the win while checking the draw results in the Sunday newspaper with the husband saying his wife thought he was kidding around.
"When I told my wife we'd won division one in Gold Lotto she didn't believe me,'' he said.
"So we took the ticket to the newsagent and sure enough, we were told it was a winner.''

While the couple couldn't remember why they had first chosen the lucky numbers 30 years ago, the husband said they planned on putting the money straight in the bank.
"This will be a nice little boost to our retirement fund,'' he said.
The couple purchased their winning 12 game entry from Broadbeach Waters Newsagency in the Moana Park Shopping Centre.
There were four division one winners nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3185 on Saturday, January 28.
There were two division one winners in Queensland and two in NSW.
